About Us

The Asheville Tourists/Eblen Charities Children’s Fund was formed in 1999 to provide aid and enhance our community, and in 2002 ATCF narrowed its focus to providing shoes for children in need.

In partnership with Eblen’s  “If the Shoe Fits” program, Asheville City Schools, Buncombe County Schools, and Payless ShoeSource, the ATECCF has raised more than $330,000 and distributed more than 22,000 free pairs of shoes over the past 13 years.

In the past five years, led by a volunteer board of directors, we have annually averaged more than $28,000 with fund raising activities such as selling wristbands at Thirsty Thursday Tourists’ games, hosting the ATECCF Golf Tournament and conducting a Meet The Tourists Luncheon in conjunction with a free children’s baseball clinic with Tourists players.

Our goal is to keep growing and expand the program to all of Western North Carolina, so that no child in need in our area is without warm, comfortable footwear.

The Asheville Tourists/Eblen Charities Children's Fund is a registered 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization. All contributions are tax deductible.
